For Club Safeguarding Officers
WRU Digital Transformation
The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) is
proud to announce the re-launch of MyWRU, a pioneering platform dedicated to
enhancing and supporting community rugby across Wales. As we kick off the new
year, MyWRU will roll out a suite of innovative features designed to streamline
club and game management, foster player development, and enhance fan
engagement, replacing 16-year-old software with new modern engineering.
MyWRU is a
pivotal platform to the community game, but in recent years development has
stalled due to a rise in costs. We’re now pleased to say that the WRU has
redeveloped the system in-house, giving our community game more ownership of
the platform, and for us to be able to develop features at a much quicker pace.
We want
MyWRU to be a system that better supports the community game, reduces the
administration hours of our volunteers, and brings value to individuals and
clubs.
However,
this does mean change, but we will be here to support you through it.
The new platform
The new
MYWRU platform will launch in the first few weeks of January.
When the
system launches, you will see that the look and feel of MYWRU has improved
significantly. From January onwards, more features and functions will be
introduced as we continuously improve the system. We ask for your patience and
feedback throughout the new year as clubs get to grips with the new system.
MYWRU will
continue to be accessible via mywru.co.uk AND the new web address my.wru.wales.
We will also introduce a Welsh web address.
What this means for Club Safeguarding Officers
Registration
As you are
already a registered Club Safeguarding Officer, you DO NOT have to register again
once the new system is launched. Your registration will continue to be valid
until the end of the season.
Managing your volunteer DBS
applications.
For individuals
who have already registered for this season and already have a DBS
qualification that expires beyond 31st May 2025 you do not need to
take any action.
For
individuals who have already registered for this season but have a DBS
qualification that expires before the end of the current season, a new DBS application will continue to be created
by the CBS system before their existing DBS ends. You will continue the process
through the CBS system as per the current process .
For
individuals who have already registered for this season who have a DBS
application in progress, you do not need to take any action. These applications
will be managed by the WRU Safeguarding Team.
For individuals
who are brand new to the game and require a DBS after January 1st 2025.
The
individual will be made aware via the new WRU system that they require a DBS
and to contact the WRU Safeguarding Team (safeguarding@wru.wales) who will
create the DBS application for the Club Safeguarding Officer to progress via
the CBS system
These
measures are temporary until we can fully integrate the DBS application process
back into the volunteer registration process.
