For Referees
WRU Digital Transformation
The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) is
proud to announce the re-launch of MyWRU, a pioneering platform dedicated to
enhancing and supporting community rugby across Wales. As we kick off the new
year, MyWRU will roll out a suite of innovative features designed to streamline
club and game management, foster player development, and enhance fan
engagement, replacing 16-year-old software with new modern engineering.
MyWRU is a
pivotal platform to the community game, but in recent years development has
stalled due to a rise in costs. We’re now pleased to say that the WRU has
redeveloped the system in-house, giving our community game more ownership of
the platform, and for us to be able to develop features at a much quicker pace.
We want
MyWRU to be a system that better supports the community game, reduces the
administration hours of our volunteers, and brings value to individuals and
clubs.
However,
this does mean change, but we will be here to support you through it.
The new platform
The new MyWRU
platform will launch in the first few weeks of January.
When the
system launches, you will see that the look and feel of MyWRU has improved
significantly. From January onwards, more features and functions will be
introduced as we continuously improve the system. We ask for your patience and
feedback throughout the new year as clubs get to grips with the new system.
MyWRU will
continue to be accessible via mywru.co.uk AND the new web address my.wru.wales.
We will also introduce a Welsh web address.
What this means for Referees
Registration
As you are
already a registered Referee, you DO NOT have to register again once the new
system is launched. Your registration will continue to be valid until the end
of the season.
Allocation to games
The
Referees department will continue to inform you of the fixtures you are
allocated to officate ahead of time as per the current procedure.
Referee
expenses
There is no
change to the way referees submit their expenses.
The Ref
App
The Ref App
will be temporarily unavailable during the first few months of 2025. This means
there will be some changes to the way you accept team sheets, submit results
and complete discipline reports:
Teamsheets
There will
be no change to the way clubs submit team sheets for their fixtures. HOWEVER,
team managers must show you their submitted team sheets via their team sheet
app or paper (depending on the competition) ahead of kick off.
Submitting
Results
Temporarily,
results will be submitted via an online form which will be made available to
you prior to every match you referee (depending on the competition). Please use
this to submit the results for the game that you are refereeing.
Submitting
Discipline Reports
Temporarily,
red card reports will be submitted via the red card discipline forms which will
be made available to you prior to every match you referee (depending on the
competition). Please use this to submit red card reports for the game that you
are refereeing.
Support & communication
We will
provide you with a supplementary help document to answer all your questions and
send out further information regarding the changes in the coming weeks. Please
refer to these in the first instance if you are having any issues.
In addition, please contact digitalanddata@wru.waleswith any technical queries you have.
