⚠️ Looking to move to a different club from last season? That is done by the transfer process and not the registration process.
Transfers can only be carried out club to club and not by players (or their parent/guardian)
What to do before registering for the season
✅ Before registering, make sure:
- You are registering with the same club as last season. If you are moving clubs, please follow the transfer process.
- You haven’t played rugby outside Wales recently. if you have, please follow the international clearance process.
- You use your existing MyWRU account. If you cannot remember your account details, please reset your password.
Registering as a senior player for the 2025/26 rugby season
1. Log in to your account via https://my.wru.wales
2. Click “Register to Play”
3. Select “No, myself”
4. Confirm your details
5. Choose the club you played for last season
6. Submit the registration
✅ Make sure:
- The details are accurate (DOB, name, etc.)
- You register them with the same club as last season
- If registering with a new club, do not proceed with your registration as it will be rejected. Instead follow the transfer process.
Registering your child for the 2025/26 rugby season
1. Log in to your parent/guardian account via https://my.wru.wales
2. Click register to participate
3. Click "Yes, someone under 18"
4. Confirm their details or add a new child
5. Choose the club they played for last season
6. Submit the registration
✅ Make sure:
- The details are accurate (DOB, name, etc.)
- You register them with the same club as last season
- If registering with a new club, do not proceed with your registration as it will be rejected. Instead follow the transfer process.
Registering as a new adult player (18+)
New to WRU and rugby in Wales? Here's how to register as a new adult player:
1. Go to https://my.wru.wales
2. Click “Login or create account” → Sign up
3. Create your account using your email and password
4. Log in and update your personal profile
5. Click “Register to Play”
6. Choose your club
7. Confirm your details and submit
📝 Once submitted, your registration will go through:
- WRU approval
- Club Secretary approval
You'll get notified when your registration is confirmed.
Registering a new U18's player?
To register a new U18's player, the parent/guardian must do this from their existing parent/guardian account.
1. Log in to your parent/guardian account via https://my.wru.wales
2. Click “Register to Participate”
4. Click "Yes, someone under 18"
5. Select 'add a child'
5. Confirm their details
6. Choose the club they wish to play for
7. Submit the registration
📝 Once submitted, your registration will go through:
- WRU approval
- Club Secretary approval
What happens if I accidentally create a second MyWRU account for me or my child?
Don’t worry - it happens.
If you’ve created a new account by mistake instead of logging into your existing one:
- Submit your registration normally
- We’ll manually merge duplicate accounts in the background
Please allow extra time for processing during peak registration periods.
If you have already registered and are seeing "Awaiting approval by WRU"
Please do not contact us if your application status is “Awaiting approval by WRU.”
